Introduction

The department of Chemical Engineering Education was founded in 1977, and separated in 2006 as Division of Industrial Education. In 2009, The Department of Chemical Engineering Education was started as College of Education to cultivate students to be professionals who are able to play a leading role in educational innovation.

Chemical engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the application of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics), and life sciences (e.g. biology, microbiology and biochemistry) with mathematics, to the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable forms. In addition to producing useful materials, modern chemical engineering is also concerned with pioneering valuable new materials and techniques such as nanotechnology and biomedical engineering. Chemical engineering largely involves the design, improvement and maintenance of processes involving chemical or biological transformations for large-scale manufacture.

The department focuses on practical education as well as broad knowledge of major studies for students to become competent teachers after graduation by providing education based on academic theories and their practical study in both the fields of Chemical Engineering and Education. The students will acquire theoretical backgrounds and skills teach Chemical Engineering/Textile Engineering with Teacher Certification for secondary schools at the end of their course work. In addition, students can obtain an additional Teaching Certificate through the Integrated Program. A majority of our graduates teach Chemical Engineering/Textile Engineering at secondary schools and make a great contribution to educational development in actual teaching situations.
